With the start of the Premier League only two-and-a-half weeks away, clubs in England's top flight - and across Europe - are beginning to flex their muscles in the summer transfer window.
Manchester City have already spent more than £160million on new additions and are now set to battle it out with Real Madrid for the signature of Kylian Mbappe.
Tottenham, meanwhile, have failed to sign anyone at all this summer, and their chairman Daniel Levy has claimed that current the spending levels of their rivals is 'unsustainable'. You call follow all the latest transfer news withSportsmail's DAN RIPLEY here.

Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti has conceded that Manchester United target Ivan Perisic could leave this summer — but only if he finds a realistic replacement.
United, who have already signed Romelu Lukaku for £75million and Victor Lindelof for £30.7m, have been heavily linked with a move for the 28-year-old.
However, a move appears to be hanging in the balance with Croatia winger Perisic currently involved in Inter's pre-season tour of China and Singapore.
Chelsea centre back Andreas Christensen has denied suggestions that his parent club are failing young players in their loan system.
Christensen was one of 38 players sent out from Stamford Bridge on loan last season.
But he insists he was well looked after by the Blues during his two-year spell at Borussia Monchengladbach.
SIMON JONES: Bristol City are giving a trial to Derry City forward Rory Holden.
The 19-year-old has impressed since coming in to the Derry first team under Kenny Shiels.
He has already played in the Europa League and scored a fine individual goal against Sligo Rovers in the Irish League. Northern Ireland have also invited him to train with their Under 21 squad.
Monaco will not sell Thomas Lemar this summer, according to the club's vice president Vadim Vasilyev.
Lemar is a target for Arsenal, who are said to be preparing a £50million bid having had two previous offers turned down.
However Vasilyev says neither Lemar, nor fellow midfielder Fabinho - a Manchester City target - will be leaving the Stade Louis II before September 1.
DOMINIC KING: Everton manager Ronald Koeman has confirmed that Ross Barkley is 'looking for a new challenge' and '100 per cent' certain to leave the club this summer.
Koeman said the England midfielder declined the offer of a new contract at Goodison Park and is no longer a part of his plans for the forthcoming season.
Speaking ahead of Everton's UEFA Europa League qualifier against Slovakian side Ruzomberok on Thursday night, Koeman said: 'He declined our contract offer and he has told me he is looking for a new challenge. I need to respect that.'
Monaco were the youthful, vibrant and free-scoring team that took European football by storm last season, winning the French league title in sensational fashion and reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.
In the space of just a couple of summer months they've been ripped apart, their talented players preyed upon by the free-spending elite of the continental game.
Lazar Markovic has been left out of Liverpool's squad for friendlies in Germany after holding talks with Fiorentina.
The Serbia forward is surplus to requirements at Anfield and has spent the last two seasons out on loan, first at Fenerbahce and then Sporting Lisbon.
Markovic was recalled from his stint in Portugal to join Hull in January where he enjoyed some success.
CRAIG HOPE: There were three books published on the same subject this summer. You can find them under the reference card - Tyneside Rafalution, 2016-17.
Each celebrates the influence of one man on one football club, Rafa Benitez on Newcastle United.
The ink was still wet, however, when thoughts turned to a not-so-triumphant *Stop Press* insert.
Manchester United look set to miss out on Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches.
The Portuguese ace has been linked with a move to Old Trafford to hook up with compatriot Jose Mourinho, who confirmed yesterday that he was in the market for a midfielder.
The defender has joined on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
SIMON JONES: Leicester City are discussing a three-year contract for teenage Paris Saint-Germain forward Alassane Meite.
The 17-year-old has impressed while guesting for Leicester Under 19s in the Generali Cee Cup in Prague under the guidance of coach Trevor Peake.
Meite, who can play across the front three, failed to agree professional terms at PSG with a pathway to the first team difficult to achieve with their high profile recruitment policy.
Leicester have also had Solihull's Tyrese Shade and Tyler French from Sudbury on trial.
SAMI MOKBEL: Arsenal will submit a third offer for Monaco forward Thomas Lemar worth £50million.
Having signed Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, the Gunners are focusing on getting a deal for the France international over the line.
Arsenal have already had two offers, their latest worth £45m, rebuffed by the Ligue 1 club.
PETE JENSON: Philippe Coutinho has agreed terms with Barcelona over a move to La Liga this summer, according to Catalan Radio RAC1.
It still leaves the Spanish side with the huge task of completing a deal with Liverpool who, as Sportsmail revealed last week, rejected an opening offer from Barcelona of £72m for the Brazilian playmaker.
The tug of war for Kylian Mbappe has intensified with Manchester City looking to hijack the Monaco star's world record move to Real Madrid.
City have opened talks with the 18-year-old French sensation and are pursuing a deal that would shatter the £89million deal that brought Paul Pogba to Manchester United last year.
Danilo turned down the chance to join Chelsea before making a £26.5million move to Manchester City, the former Real Madrid defender has confirmed.
City hijacked Chelsea’s bid to sign the 26-year-old Brazil right-back after they missed out on Dani Alves, despite spending £50m on Kyle Walker from Tottenham.
SAMI MOKBEL: Crystal Palace are in talks over a £3million bid for West Ham goalkeeper Adrian.
Frank de Boer wants to add a new goalkeeper to his ranks and has moved for Adrian after his move for first choice Jasper Cillessen hit the skids.
Adrian is keen to leave the London Stadium with his first team chances limited following the arrival of Joe Hart on loan.
Fulham have announced the signing of Brighton midfielder Oliver Norwood on a season-long loan deal.
The Northern Ireland international made 33 appearances as the Seagulls won promotion to the Premier League last season.
Daniel Levy has launched a passionate defence of Tottenham’s meagre transfer business and claimed other Premier League bosses are playing an unsustainable game with their exorbitant spending.
Spurs are the only top-flight club not to have signed fresh blood this summer as their rivals lavish millions.
Burnley have completed the £1.5million capture of defender Phil Bardsley from Stoke, with the former Manchester United defender admitting he did not need much convincing to make the move.
Sportsmail revealed the Clarets' offer earlier on Tuesday and the deal has now been ratified, with Stoke receiving an initial £750,000 and the fee rising to £1.5m should certain performance-related add-ons be triggered.
SIMON JONES: Juventus have turned their attentions back to Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi after growing frustrated in their pursuit of Nemanja Matic and Emre Can.
The move will encourage Manchester United to press ahead for £40million-rated Chelsea midfielder Matic. The 28-year-old Serbian is keen to move to Old Trafford where he believes he can secure a longer-term contract.
Renato Sanches has declared he is unhappy at Bayern Munich and wants to leave the German giants.
Sanches, who cost Bayern £27.5million when he made the move from Benfica last summer, only made six Bundesliga starts for the Bavarian club last season and admits he is itching for a move.
That news could go down well at Old Trafford, with Manchester United reportedly among the midfielder's admirers.
It's already been one of the craziest (silliest?) transfer windows in recent memory... and we still have over a month to go!
Forget stuff that could happen in August though. It's today and the present what matters as I welcome you to Sportsmail's live coverage of the day's transfer news as it develops.
