Alexandre Lacazette included in Arsenal's Emirates Cup squad as Alexis Sanchez and Jack Wilshere miss out

  • Alexis Sanchez won't play in the Emirates Cup as he is yet to return to training
  • Jack Wilshere isn't in Arsenal's plans for next season and also misses out
  • Summer signing from Lyon, Alexandre Lacazette,  will play this weekend

Alexis Sanchez and Jack Wilshere have not been included in Arsenal's squad for this weekend's Emirates Cup.

Sanchez is not expected to report back for training at London Colney until July 2 after being given an extended break after playing for Chile in the Confederations Cup.

Shkodran Mustafi will also miss this weekend's matches against Benfica and Sevilla.

'Alexis and Mustafi, their first training session will be on Sunday, the day we play against Sevilla [in the Emirates Cup],' Arsene Wenger told Arsenal's official website. 'They are practising on the day.'

Wilshere has been deemed surplus to requirements at Arsenal despite returning to pre-season training this past week.

The 25-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Bournemouth, missed Arsenal's tour of Australia and China as he continued his recovery from the leg break he suffered at the end of last season.

The England international remains hopeful of forcing his way back into Wenger's plans.

Serie A club Sampdoria have made a £7.5million bid, while Turkish club Antalyaspor have also been linked with Wilshere.

Meanwhile, supporters at the Emirates will get their first chance to see Alexandre Lacazette since the striker's £53million transfer from Lyon earlier this summer.
