  • Manchester United could pounce on Bale if Madrid strike Kylian Mbappe deal
  • Zinedine Zidane insists he is happy with current squad and played down transfer

Gareth Bale was out on the training pitch focusing on what he does best, as the Real Madrid forward put speculation surrounding his future to one side on Friday night.

The 28-year-old Wales star has been admired by Jose Mourinho for some time, and Zinedine Zidane admitted earlier this week that 'anything could happen' regarding the future of all of his players.

Bale was put through his paces along with his team-mates in the United States as the club continue their preparations for the new season, and Zidane has urged Madrid's president Florentino Perez not to sell in order to make way for Monaco forward Kylian Mbappe.

Madrid face bitter rivals Barcelona at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens later on Saturday looking to land a psychological blow ahead of the La Liga season, but they will again be without their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portugal star is still recuperating having played for his country in the Confederations Cup, so the onus will once more fall on Bale to provide his side with a creative spark.

Madrid come up against Barca at a time of uncertainty surrounding their famous foes, and Zidane's men will hope to capitalise on any unrest inside the camp caused by the sensational training ground bust-up between Neymar and Nelson Semedo.

While Barcelona look set to face a battle to keep hold of one of their prized assets between now and August 31, Real remain confident of striking a deal with Monaco for forward Mbappe, with the Ligue 1 side holding out for at least £160million.

Despite Mbappe's potential arrival meaning the break up of Karim Benzema, Ronaldo and Bale as a front three, Zinedine is adamant that he wishes to keep hold of his current squad members amid interest from elsewhere.

'I'm relaxed and I'm delighted with the squad. We have the best, we won and we want to do the same again,' Zidane told reporters ahead of the Barca clash.

'The squad is very good and I don't want changes. It's only Cristiano [Ronaldo] who isn't with us [on pre-season] but we know that it's going to be a difficult year. Everyone will want to win and that's more beautiful for us.

'Let's hope that all of the members of the 'BBC' stay here. I want the 'BBC' to stay put, it's the same for all of the players who are here. That said, up until August 31 anything can happen.'

On Mbappe, Zidane added: 'I'm the coach here and you'd have to ask someone else about that. We're working on things and we'll see what happens. We've got the players who are here now and we'll just have to see what happens.'

Madrid will face an MLS All-Stars in Soldier Field, Chicago next Wednesday before heading to Macedonia for the UEFA Super Cup against Manchester United.

Zidane - and Bale - go head to head with Mourinho on August 5 in Skopje and get their La Liga campaign back underway when they face Deportivo La Coruna on August 20.
