Jurgen Klopp may have handed Alberto Moreno a route back into the Liverpool first team after praising his impressive display in the defeat of Bayern Munich.

The Spanish left back played the 90 minutes and was full of energy as the Reds roared to a 3-0 victory at the Allianz Arena.

Goals from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge stole the headlines, but the manager was every bit as impressed by the 25-year-old's performance.

Moreno has been linked with an Anfield exit after failing to nail down a regular place under Klopp but the manager said: 'It was a really good game from Alberto, that's why we kept him on, because every second he was playing better, he was more present.

'He's really fit but he's had a little problem with his thigh since the day before yesterday.

'But we had a test with him this morning and he really played well.

'The players decide themselves how many games they play.'

James Milner took over from Moreno last season as the regular left back, while Scotland international Andy Robertson arrived in an £8m deal from Hull last month.

Liverpool rejected an £11m bid for Moreno from Napoli in June, but he will be allowed to leave if his £15m valuation is met.
