Onomah told avfc.co.uk: 'I can't wait to get started.

'This is a huge football club and I want to really make my mark here and prove to be a player the manager can rely on. I know that promotion is the aim and I am here to help us achieve that.'

Onomah is eligible to make his Villa debut in their opening Championship match of the season against Hull on Saturday.

The Enfield-born youngster has often been used as an attacking midfielder during his Spurs cameos, but he sees himself as more of a box-to-box player.
