Davinson Sanchez ends stand-off with Ajax as Colombia defender trains amid continued interest from Tottenham

Tottenham target Davinson Sanchez appears to have ended his dispute with Ajax after returning to training on Wednesday amid continued speculation regarding his future with the Amsterdam club.

Sanchez informed coaches that he did not wish to train on Tuesday, opting to work in the gym, but the 21-year-old was back out on the training field with his teammates ahead of the first leg of the club's Europa League play-off against Rosenborg.

The Colombia international has been the subject of a move to the Premier League this summer, with both Spurs and Arsenal having made enquiries following an impressive season in the Eredivisie.

An opening offer of £28million from Tottenham has been rejected by the Dutch club, who are looking for a figure closer to £40m for the pacey defender.

Delegates from the north London club flew to Amsterdam on Monday with a view to returning with an agreement in place and Sanchez appears to be doing all he can to make sure it goes through.

The defender wishes to move to the Premier League, but Ajax remain determined to keep hold of their star and have offered him an improved contract in a bid to convince him to stay.

Chelsea and Real Madrid have also posted their interest in the versatile centre-back and the Spanish side are understood to be lining up a counter bid but Sanchez wants to play for Tottenham after speaking to Mauricio Pochettino.

He would become the first signing to arrive at Spurs this summer and take pressure off Daniel Levy, who has drawn criticism for tightening the purse strings.

Ajax will be hoping to book their place in the Europa League group stages against the Norwegian champions having been knocked out of the Champions League in the third qualifying round by Nice.

The club's failure to reach Europe's top competition appears to have helped Sanchez make up his mind on his own future, but the player is contractually obliged to fulfil his training commitments.

The centre-back was left out of the Ajax's squad to face Heracles on Saturday night after telling coaching staff he was not in the right frame of mind to play.
