Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil is the best player in the Premier League, says Crystal Palace star Yohan Cabaye: 'He knows everything before anyone else'

Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye has revealed that he believes Mesut Ozil is the best player in the Premier League.

Ozil, who is at the centre of a long-running contract saga at the Emirates, has been the subject of much talk off the field but remains a key player for Arsene Wenger's side.

And Cabaye believes the Germany International to be the 'strongest' player in the country, with his style and flair in passing the key assets which set him apart from everyone else.

The Crystal Palace midfielder believes Ozil's ability to pick out a pass sets him apart

'The strongest player in England, I think? Mesut Ozil,' Cabaye told France Football. 'He is really, very strong.

'You get the impression that he does not care, that he is nonchalant, but at one point he will put a pass that nobody has seen.

'He always knows everything before everyone else. That’s what is fabulous about him.'

Wenger will hope Ozil continues the form shown last season after the German contributed eight goals and 10 assists during a fairly uninspiring Premier League campaign for the club.

But the Gunners have started this season with a little more vigour, wrestling back the initiative from Leicester on the opening day to claim a breathtaking 4-3 victory at the Emirates.

Wenger's men travel to Stoke this weekend while Cabaye's Palace hope to bounce back from defeat by Huddersfield as they travel north to Liverpool.
