Man City will play Shakhtar Donetsk, Napoli and Feyenoord in Champions League group
Pep Guardiola will be hoping his Man City side can go further in Champions League this season
Shakhtar Donetsk
Guardiola will be very relieved that his side have avoided the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus from pot one. City should be very confident of beating the Ukrainian outfit at the Etihad but the clash away from home will be very tough.
Shakhtar won their 10th championship title last season and have some silky players in their ranks. An away game at Shakhtar is always very tricky, with a hostile atmosphere.
Key player - Taras Stepanenko
The 28-year-old is a talented player, who plays as a box-to-box midfielder and can cause City's midfield and defence a host of problems.
He has the capability to put in a lot of defensive work and can also contribute with assists and goals.
Danger rating: 5/10
Taras Stepanenko, left, could potentially cause Manchester City plenty of problems
Napoli
Possibly the toughest opponent they could have drawn in pot three and hardest in their group. Napoli finished third in Serie A last season, just five points behind champions Juventus and one point behind Roma.
Maurizio Zarri's side will pose a big threat to City with the firepower they have in their ranks, with the likes of Dries Mertens, Hamsik and Lorenzo Insigne up top. And again, Napoli's fans will be sure to make the away trip a nasty experience for City.
Key player - Dries Mertens
The Belgian striker definitely has an eye for goal, scoring 29 goals in 35 games last season for the Italian outfit.
City's attack-minded defence will have to be on their guard against the 30-year-old, especially with his dangerous team-mates playing alongside him.
Danger rating: 7/10
Serie A outgit Napoli will pose a big threat to Guardiola's men with their attacking talent
Feyenoord
Feyenoord surprised a lot of people last season to claim the Eredivisie title, their first for 18 years. Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side scored an impressive total of 86 goals in the league last campaign. They have started this season well, winning their first two games.
But City will be confident of beating Feyenoord both at home and at the De Kuip Stadium. Guardiola will be eyeing top spot in Group F and will be disappointed if they fail to achieve this, with no European giants standing in their way.
Key player - Nicolai Jorgensen
The Danish striker will be a nuisance to City's defence. He managed to net 21 goals last season in all competitions as he led his side to an unlikely Eredivisie title.
When he fails to get on the scoresheet, he doesn't go missing. His selfless and clinical approach was a key factor in Feyenoord winning the title last season.
Danger rating: 6/10
Nicolai Jorgensen played an instrumental role in Feyenoord winning Eredivisie last season
