Goalkeeper Petr Cech has come out fighting following Arsenal's 4-0 humiliation to Liverpool, saying he still thinks the side have enough to win the title.

The Gunners were embarrassed at Anfield and offered very little resistance to Liverpool's dominance in attack.

It is the sides second loss in consecutive weeks, following their surprise defeat to Stoke City.

After the game, Cech admitted the result and the performance were not acceptable.

'Quite simply unacceptable for the team we have. Ok, you can lose 4-0 if you are unlucky, it can happen. But not like today. It was unacceptable.

'We were not fighting, not running enough. We were not winning any individual battles and, as a team, we completely failed to respond to their way of playing.

‘We only have ourselves to blame.'

Arsenal currently sit 16th in the Premier League after picking up just three points in their first three league games.

But Cech still believes they can make a success of their season.

‘The only positive to come out of the game is that we have time to respond. It is very early in the season and with two defeats you can still win the League.

‘If I didn’t believe that we could do that I would probably retire, but I believe that this team has everything to compete and to be able to win the title.

‘We have shown that in many games. Now we just need to be consistent and, when the games come, be on top,' said Cech.
