Inter Milan have made a new offer to Arsenal for German centre back Shkodran Mustafi.
The Italian side have offered a £4.6million loan fee with an option to buy for £23m.
Their rivals Juventus, who won Serie A last season for the sixth consecutive campaign, are also said to be interested in Mustafi.
Inter Milan have launched a new bid in efforts to sign Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi
Arsenal are willing to sell the defender they signed for £35m only last summer, but are looking to recoup as much as possible for him, which means Inter's loan offer is likely to be rebuffed.
Arsene Wenger is on the hunt to bring in a defender before this week's deadline and is keen to recruit before he sells.
The Gunners are still monitoring long-term target Virgil van Dijk's situation at Southampton and if a deal can be struck to sign him or another target, that will pave the way for Mustafi's Emirates exit.
