Manchester United midfielder Matty Willock is in Holland ahead of sealing a season-long loan to FC Utrecht.

The 21-year-old was expected to join last week, only for the deal to be held up as the Dutch side considered their options following their Europa League exit at the hands of Zenit St Petersburg.

Meanwhile, Wolves are close to signing Willock's 20-year-old Manchester United midfield team-mate Scott McTominay on loan.

The 21-year-old United midfielder is currently in Holland as the deal edges nearer completion

Willock, whose brother Chris joined Benfica from Arsenal this summer, trained with United's first team last season after impressing for the U23s.

But the heightened competition for places in midfield means his best chance of competitive action is to go on loan.

Willock has yet to make a senior appearance for United but he was named as a substitute for last season's home game against West Brom in April.

He was handed the No 42 shirt upon his promotion to the United first team.

Utrecht finished fourth in Holland's Eredivisie last season, before winning a domestic playoff to qualify for the Europa League.

They knocked out Valletta and Lech Poznan in the preliminary rounds this summer, but failed to reach the Europa League group stage after a 2-1 aggregate loss to Zenit.
