Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback is talking to Wolverhampton Wanders over an initial loan move.
The Molineux club are keen to sign the 27-year-old, who has fallen out with Rafa Benitez and is surplus to requirements.
Hull City had been discussing a move but Wolves' ambitious project is appealing to the former Sunderland player.

Wolves have already signed 14 players this summer.
Ryan Bennett, Roderick Miranda, Phil Ofosu-Ayeh, Barry Douglas, Ruben Neves, John Ruddy, Will Norris, Pedro Goncalves, Boubacar Hanne and Oskar Buur have signed permanent deals.
Meanwhile, Willy Boly, Ruben Vinagr, Diogo Jota and Leo Bonatini have joined the Championship side on loan.
Wolves have their sights set on winning promotion this season and have started by taking 10 points from five matches, leaving them fourth in the table.

Hull City are also interested in Colback, but he would prefer to sign for Nuno Espirito Santo
