West Ham have asked about Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes should they fail to resurrect their deal for Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho.
Gomes, 24, has been struggling for game time and is available on a free loan on the basis he plays 70 percent of West Ham’s games.
Spurs have also looked at the player but the wages could be too high.

Gomes has spent only 12 months at the Nou Camp after joining from Valencia last summer.
The midfielder was a key part of the Portugal side that beat France to the European Championship title in 2016.
Gomes has made just one appearance so far this campaign after playing 47 times last season.
