Tottenham have not yet extinguished their interest in Ross Barkley and are willing to do a deal with Everton for around £30million.
However, it has not been Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino who has been driving their interest but his No 2 Jesus Perez.
The English midfielder, who has attracted interest from Chelsea this window, is out until December with a hamstring injury and is out of contract at Goodison Park next summer.

Antonio Conte's side have recently seen a £25m offer for Barkley rejected but talks between the two clubs are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Spurs are also trying to send youngster Marcus Edwards out on loan to the Championship or lower.
Pochettino likes the 18-year-old midfielder and he has been training with the first team but the manager believes there are some faults that need ironing out.
Edwards made his first-team debut for Spurs in their 5-0 victory over Gillingham in the EFL Cup last September.
