Jordan Henderson and new Liverpool team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain enjoy time in the cockpit as England travel to Malta for World Cup qualifier

  • Gareth Southgate's England face Malta away in a World Cup qualifier on Friday
  • Following their match with Malta, England play Slovakia at Wembley on Monday
  • Three Lions currently sit top of their World Cup qualifying group after six games

Following his £35million move to Liverpool, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has already been getting to know his compatriot and new team-mate Jordan Henderson even better.

The former Arsenal man is currently on international duty with England and on Thursday, Gareth Southgate's side headed to Malta ahead of their World Cup qualifier.

And just hours after sealing his transfer to Liverpool, Oxlade-Chamberlain posted some videos on Instagram of himself and Reds captain Henderson enjoying a ride in the cockpit as they flew to Malta.

The 24-year-old uploaded videos, as well as Henderson, on his social media page which showed the captain and his co-pilot landing the plane at Malta International Airport on Thursday night.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, who enjoyed a totally different in-flight experience after being invited into the cockpit, was clearly impressed with their job at safely landing the plane as he could be heard saying 'nice work boys.'

After spending six years with Arsenal, in which he won three FA Cups, Oxlade-Chamberlain signed for the Anfield outfit in the biggest deal on deadline day.

Liverpool's new boy signed a five-year deal with Jurgen Klopp's side and will earn £120,000-per-week.

However, Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn't had too much time to reflect on his move as he is currently gearing up for England's World Cup qualifier against Malta on Friday night.

And just three days after playing Malta, who are rooted to the bottom of the table with zero points, England face Slovakia at Wembley.

Gareth Southgate's side sit top of their qualifying group on 14 points from their opening six matches.
