Transfer window fan verdicts: Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United supporters pleased, Tottenham given 7/10 but Arsenal 'failed on all fronts'

The summer circus ended on Thursday night as the transfer window slammed shut.

Deadline Day left some supporters energised and others feeling flat.

We spoke to fans of 10 teams who each told Sportsmail how they felt their club had fared in terms of signings and sales.

ARSENAL

Peter Wood (le-grove.co.uk)

Arsenal failed the transfer window on all fronts. We added just two players to a squad that finished fifth and was humiliated in the Champions League. We failed to secure our contract rebels to new deals.

We failed to shift Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil who will leave for free next season. We failed in our approach for Thomas Lemar.

This will go down as the worst window of Arsene Wenger's tenure, and he'll likely suffer the ultimate consequence when our season predictably tanks.

CHELSEA

Andy Seaby (chelseadaft.org)

I am more than happy with our transfer window. The additions of Zappacosta and Rudiger give us plenty of options across the back five, Bakayoko and Drinkwater give options to mix things up through midfield and Alvaro Morata will prove to be a revelation in the Premier League. Let's focus on the players who are here rather than those who are not!

LIVERPOOL

Dave Usher (liverpoolway.co.uk)

Relatively happy but it could have been better. Mohamed Salah has improved what was already a great attack, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is very talented but injury prone and need to score more goals. Not getting Virgil van Dijk feels like it could be significant, but perhaps they will revisit that one in January when Southampton might be more open to doing business.

MANCHESTER CITY

Steven Allweis (viewfromablue.com)

A mixed window. Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy are great additions, but it feels like we are short in certain areas. To be left with only three centre backs when Guardiola wants to play three at the back is odd, and we could have done with a back-up to Mendy. We will score plenty, but as with previous years it feels like we are a Kompany injury away from looking very light in defence.

MANCHESTER UNITED

Sam Peoples (thepeoplesperson.com)

Manchester United had four key things to do this summer: buy a striker, a defensive midfielder, a centre-back and sell Wayne Rooney. We did all four and sat back comfortably to watch the transfer deadline day chaos unfold. Signing a fourth player in Ivan Perisic would have been ideal but our transfer window was fantastic overall.

NEWCASTLE

Tom Bore (readnewcastle.com)

It was an anti-climatic end to the window for Newcastle. The signings appear to be shrewd pieces of business but there is a sense that not enough was done to prepare the Magpies for life in the Premier League this season. Rafa Benitez needs to put an end to the speculation surrounding his future to calm the fans' nerves.

STOKE

Martin Smith (The Oatcake Fanzine)

Most Stoke fans will be very happy with the quality of the players we've brought in but many will be wondering if we've left ourselves a little thin in centre midfield. Even more will find it hard to believe that we couldn't find a single right-footed player to fill the wing-back role in Mark Hughes' 3-4-3 system. Good deals done but perhaps we're a player or two short overall.

TOTTENHAM

Barnaby Slater (youtube.com/thefootballrep)

Due to the new stadium we have to spend within our means and, with that in mind, I'd give the window 7/10. Serge Aurier seems like a steal, Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez have potential and Fernando Llorente knows where the onion bag is. Now for a win at Everton!

WEST BROM

Alex Newton (readwestbrom.com)

I'm not only happy, I'm over the moon. There's a real case to say we've had the best window of any club in the league. On a shoestring budget, we've added quality, experience and invested in the right positions. Grzegorz Krychowiak will be signing of the season.

WEST HAM

Michael Oliver (readwestham.com)

West Ham started the transfer window addressing multiple needs by bringing in proven commodities but they have failed to add sufficient depth in key areas. The constant penny-pinching approach will lead to the side failing to live up to their expectations and Slaven Bilic will likely take the blame.
