Tottenham leave their Wembley woes behind them with a fine 3-1 win in their Champions League opener against Borussia Dortmund.

Harry Kane's brace won it for Spurs after Andriy Yarmolenko's wonder strike cancelled out Son Heung-min's opener.

No chance with Yarmolenko’s stunner and lucky to see Aubameyang’s effort ruled out. 

TOBY ALDERWEIRALD - 7

The organiser in Tottenham’s back three. Another assured display for the Belgian.

DAVINSON SANCHEZ - 7

Looks to be a sound investment but not the finished article yet. 

Hugo Lloris could do very little to prevent Borussia Dortmund leveling the scores to 1-1 

JAN VERTONGHEN - 6

Spoiled an excellent display by getting sent off, perhaps harshly, for an elbow on Gotze. 

SERGE AURIER - 7

Handed his Spurs debut and kept things steady down the right-hand side. 

MOUSA DEMBELE - 6.5

Uncharacteristically wasteful in possession during first-half but improved.

ERIC DIER - 6.5

Typically combative in midfield and kept things ticking over. Booked.

Son Heung-min opened the scoring for Tottenham with a clever finish at the front post

BEN DAVIES - 6.5

Made a couple of crucial interceptions but didn’t provide usual threat in attack.

HEUNG-MIN SON - 7.5

Dele who? The Korean made sure Spurs didn’t miss Alli with a cracker.

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN - 7 

Was quiet until finding Kane for the third. A telling impact again from the Dane.

Looks so at home at this level. Tottenham’s match-winner…again.
