Speaking on Twitter in a Q&A session with Red Neighbours, the club's community programme, he revealed: 'I have a confession. It was Everton because my dad supported them. I'm a Red now though.'

In a wide-ranging questionnaire, Lallana said his best moment at the club came when he netted in the last-minute of Liverpool's 5-4 win at Norwich in January 2016.

He hopes his biggest achievement at the club is still to come, but believes establishing himself as a first-team player has been the most important so far.

But the midfielder's biggest regret remains losing in the Europa League final to Sevilla in 2016.

The England international is currently on the sidelines as he continues his recovery from a thigh injury sustained towards the end of pre-season.

The club initially announced he would be out until November, but he is remaining positive: 'Hopefully not too long. Recovery going well.'
