Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal, Premier League RESULT: Relive the action as David Luiz sees red in Stamford Bridge stalemate

Deserved draw there. Chelsea miss the chance to climb above Man United, Arsenal remain in the bottom half.

I know it's September but these things matter right? A surprise point for Arsenal though, and one they can use to build upon you would hope.

90+2 mins: Cech gathers a Fabregas free-kick. Arsenal counter up the other end in the attempt to get something more out of this game.

Another centre-back enters the fray for Chelsea.

David Luiz has received a straight red, already on a yellow but the referee had no hesitation to move straight to red.

Quite a coming together. Luiz running with the ball, Kolasinac challenges and the Brazilian is over the top, studs showing and makes contact on the shin. It's a red.

83 mins: Atmosphere has become a bit frenetic at Stamford Bridge. The crowd know that the next goal wins this. Into the final 10 minutes as the sun shines down on west London.

It's getting scrappier and scrappier.

Final sub for the away side sees Wenger look to shore up his midfield. Perhaps release Ramsey a bit?

80 mins: Hazard with some exceptional close control, glides into the penalty area but his shot is too close to Cech.

Mustafi heads home at the backstick but it's offside from the free-kick! That really is inexcusable.

That's the end of Welbeck's afternoon as he limps down the tunnel.

73 mins: Welbeck in a bit of bother here after a tangle with David Luiz. Looks like a groin problem as he receives treatment from the Arsenal physio.

It's Hazard time.

Correct decision to show a yellow card to David Luiz for the high boot. You could argue that the challenge endangered the safety of the opponent, in this case Laurent Koscielny, but it was a natural attempt to play the ball with an overhead kick.

The boot appeared to stay relatively low and looked like it caught the Arsenal man on the hand towards the midriff. Had red been shown, it wouldn’t have been wrong but very harsh and in my opinion, lacking credibility.

Alexis time. A quiet afternoon for Lacazette comes to an end.

Booking for Morata. He barged into Monreal to ease him off the ball as they tussled for a 50-50. Let the ref know what he thought about the decision too.

61 mins: Willian makes an angle to shoot from the edge of the area but sends it over. Chelsea seeing more of the ball in this second half so far, neutered the threat Arsenal were posing towards the end of the first. It's less end-to-end as a result.

54 mins: Quick break from Chelsea led by Bakayoko, he feeds Alonso on the left who cuts onto his right but his effort is blocked. Better from the hosts.

52 mins: David Luiz attempts a bicycle kick in a crowded penalty area and he's caught Laurent Koscielny square in the face.

He's given a yellow card by the referee. It's a talking point the commentators say, no doubt a nod to Sadio Mane's red for connecting with Ederson last week. No blood, and the Arsenal defender is able to walk away from the incident.

47 mins: Willian with the first shot of the second-half but it's low and straight at Cech who gathers it well.

Half-time sub: Tiemoue Bakayoko is on for Chelsea, and it's Pedro who makes way.

45 mins: Morata sent through but Monreal covers and drills the ball back to Cech in goal who does very well indeed to chest it down and clear the danger himself.

42 mins: Arsenal are playing some good football in transition today, gliding forward quickly and playing nice one-two touch stuff. It's just failing at the final hurdle though.

And that's the closest yet! Ramsey jinks his way into the area, eventually gets a shot off from under his feet but hits the bottom of the post. It falls out to Lacazette who volleys well over the bar on the rebound. What a miss.

Chelsea strangely subdued here.

38 mins: Free-kick for Arsenal in a dangerous position, on the left-hand side near the edge of the area. Iwobi sends it in, headed behind for a corner by Morata. It comes to nothing...

32 mins: Granit Xhaka has a sighter, lets rip from 30-odd yards. It's well struck but flies wide of the post.

Channing Tatum is in the stands. It's been pretty frantic as opening half-an-hours go.

28 mins: Still a fast tempo to this game but it's turned a little scrappier in the middle and not as end-to-end as the last 10 minutes or so. It's a fascinating contest so far I have to say, and far tighter than anyone would have predicted.

23 mins: Moses gets to the byline, does very well to get a decent cross into the box. Morata on the end of it but he had too much to do and can't get his header on target.

22 mins: Pedro is sent clear through on goal but he's wasted it. Fabregas finds him, he's onside, but he waits too long to shoot, allows Koscielny to get back before he shoots too close to Cech.

20 mins: Effort from 20 yards out from Kolasinac and it's parried by Courtois but pushed straight back out into the danger zone where there were two Arsenal players running towards the goalkeeper. Chelsea eventually breathe a sigh of relief as Luiz is fouled.

Another injury stoppage, this time it's Pedro who's in pain after a coming together with Kolasinac. He's been helped off the pitch in some discomfort. Will he continue?

18 mins: Bellerin again gets inon the right hand side, Lacazette with some clever movement finds a pocket of space but his low shot is too close to Courtois. Chelsea growing all the time.

16 mins: Ooof. Lightning break from Arsenal, Iwobi and Bellerin with a lovely 1-2 down the right. The cross even better, and Welbeck gets on the end of it but can only head agonisingly wide. Better from the Gunners.

15 mins: Koscielny in the right place to just divert Moses' cross out of the six yard box. Arsenal eventually clear their lines and Chelsea start again.

11 mins: Morata heads wide at the far post from an Azpilicueta cross but he's flagged offside. After that fast start from Chelsea Arsenal are getting back into it ever so slightly.

Bit of an injury stoppage here. Lacazette gets up and walks away but Victor Moses is struggling. He limps to the side to receive some more treatment.

6 mins: Couple of early corners for Chelsea. Fabregas unmarked after the first, drills the ball across goal but cleared behind for another. Second comes to nothing.

3 mins: Petr Cech dives to grab the ball in front of Alvaro Morata after Victor Moses got to the byline to cross. Chelsea looking to drive forward at pace already in these early stages.

Pedro gets the first shot on goal with a dart from distance, easily stopped by Cech.

Kick-off is minutes away here at Stamford Bridge as both sets of players enter the pitch and go through the pre-match ritual handshakes.

Chelsea can go second with a win today, Arsenal could go level with the Blues in third if they get the three points. Lots to play for.

The ugliest part of football is winning the ball back. Those are the tough miles to run. When you have the ball, I always felt they were the easy miles. But the work you have to do without the ball, to get it back, can be dispiriting, tiresome and hard.

No one really likes it but the best teams do it to great effect. And Antonio Conte's Chelsea do it really well. Here is a team who play with a back three and who are really well drilled. You can tell they know where to stand and which positions to take up with or without the ball.

On Sunday they take on an Arsenal side who also play a back three. But in contrast, Arsenal look like a team who happened upon the back three as a formation which got them through a few results. Even on Thursday night against Cologne, they switched to a back four and looked more comfortable.

Arsene Wenger: 'Ozil is injured and Sanchez is close to his best but played midweek. He is very close to starting again. Every game is an opportunity to change history when it is negative. That (4-0 loss to Liverpool) was a negative so this is a good opportunity to put it right.'

Antonio Conte: 'Eden is very close. He is improving very well.'

'I would make a point of watching their games and I had this club close to my heart growing up, so I'm really happy to be wearing their shirt.

The German midfielder sat out the midweek Europa League victory against Cologne, with Arsene Wenger saying ahead of that match that Ozil would be 'rested'.

Sportsmail understands that Ozil will not feature in Sunday's clash at Stamford Bridge as he is struggling with a muscle injury.

On Friday, Wenger admitted that Ozil and fellow midfielder Aaron Ramsey were both doubts for Sunday’s clash, although he retained a hope that both would be available.

Graeme Souness – ‘They can think that (they’ve got the measure of Chelsea) but they’d be wrong. First time around at the Emirates Conte wasn’t settled on his team. Then the cup finals, there are always surprises.

‘We saw Arsenal at Liverpool recently. They struggled.’

Gary Neville – ‘The international break helped Arsenal, because they weren’t playing. Xhaka and Ramsey are in midfield again. I’m amazed. I expect Chelsea to bulldoze them.

'They were shocking at Liverpool. They didn’t run back, but they are there again. So I expect the same result.

Thierry Henry – ‘It is a surprise if Arsenal beat a big team away from home. I give no stats to back up a statement that Arsenal can win.’

Looks like Arsenal's graphic team are on one today. After initially naming Welbeck as the striker and Lacazette alongside Iwobi in the two behind, they've only gone and switched them round.
