Liverpool have marked their 125th anniversary with a special edition shirt - which costs nearly twice as much as their regular jersey.

The Reds have become the Blacks with the new look, which has the team badge, kit maker's logo and sponsor all darkened.

According to the official club website, the shirt costs £90, a significant increase on the regular shirt, which is priced at £50.

The limited edition 'Pitch Black' shirt, which goes on sale on Thursday, is the fourth different kit Liverpool have available for sale to their fans.

It is available alongside the traditional red home shirt, the green and white away jersey, and the third strip, in bright orange.

According to the club website, the shirt 'provides comfort as you cut through the opposition, while the embroidered 125th anniversary year club crest shows where your heart lies.'

Liverpool marked 125 years since the club was founded with celebrations before their Premier League game against Burnley on Saturday.

A special mosaic display was formed in the stands by the Reds supporters at Anfield before the game - although the visitors spoiled the party somewhat.

Burnley earned a 1-1 draw after taking the lead through Scott Arfield, before Mo Salah equalised for the hosts.
