Arsene Wenger has a better record than Jose Mourinho, Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino over their last 100 games... but it's Chelsea boss Antonio Conte who tops the elite manager list

Antonio Conte is the best of the best when it comes to managing in Europe's top five leagues over the last 100 games, but there is encouragement for embattled Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on the elite list.

Chelsea boss Conte tops the table with 247 points from his last 100 matches, which saw him win the Premier League title with the Blues in his first season at the club, having won the Serie A title with Juventus in each of his final two years there, before managing Italy for two years prior to his Chelsea appointment.

Conte's last 100 club games have seen him lift three league titles, while his replacement Massimiliano Allegri has done the same having won the Serie A title in each of his three seasons in Turin. The Italian sits second in the list behind Conte, having picked up nine fewer points than his predecessor in his last 100 matches in charge.

Under-pressure Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger also features highly on the list

Carlo Ancelotti, Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone all come next on the list while Wenger's record over his last 100 matches makes interesting reading.

The Frenchman has won 59 and drawn 20 of his last century, for a total of 197 points, encompassing the end of seasons where the Gunners have finished third, second and fifth. 

Wenger's side sit 12th in the Premier League table at a time when English football's longest-serving manager is coming under increasing pressure, but his record over the last 100 matches is better than Mauricio Pochettino, who has the same number of points with Tottenham but has won two games fewer than Wenger.

Diego Simeone has no league titles in his last 100 matches but has been ultra-consistent

Jose Mourinho's last 100 matches have seen him win the Premier League with Chelsea, be sacked by the Blues in a season when they went on to finish 10th and then guide Manchester United to sixth place in his first season at Old Trafford. 

He's won 53 of his last 100 games with the 29 draws he's picked up in that time giving him a points total of 188. That's better than Jurgen Klopp's total of 171, picked up during his time at Liverpool and a difficult final season with Dortmund which saw them finish seventh.

The two are something of draw specialists, having managed 56 between them during their last 100 matches.

Guardiola's last 100 matches include one full season at Manchester City and two German title wins at Bayern Munich, but he is 16 points behind table-topping Conte on a total of 231, from 72 wins and 15 draws.

He's directly above Simeone who has no league titles to his name but has been supremely consistent with Atletico Madrid, finishing third in each of the last three La Liga campaigns behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Above Guardiola, in third place, is Ancelotti. His achievements over his last 100 league games have seen him win the Bundesliga by 15 points in his first Bayern Munich season and previously finish second in La Liga twice while in charge of Real Madrid.

The nine managers to make the European elite list have all had very different starts to the new season, with Mourinho and Guardiola leading the way in the Premier League with identical records producing 13 points from their first five games.

Pochettino's Spurs are struggling to get used to their temporary home at Wembley and have just eight points from their first five, while Klopp's Liverpool sit on the same number, with Wenger's Arsenal a point further back in 12th.

Over in Spain they have only played four league games each at the start of the new campaign, with Simeone's Atletico unbeaten on eight points, splitting their four matches with two wins and two draws.

Allegri has made a perfect start in his four Serie A games this season, with Juve's four wins bringing 13 goals, while Ancelotti's Bayern have been beaten once in their opening four Bundesliga matches.
