Arsene Wenger has confirmed Danny Welbeck will be out for at least four weeks with a groin injury.

Sportsmail revealed on Monday that the England international would be missing for a minimum of a month after limping off during Sunday's clash against Chelsea.

The news means Welbeck will miss the next four club games - including Wednesday's Carabao Cup clash against Doncaster - and England's forthcoming double header against Slovenia and Lithuania.

Welbeck underwent preliminary scans on Monday following his injury at Stamford Bridge

'We don't know how bad his groin injury is, but he will certainly be out until the international break,' confirmed manager Wenger.

Arsenal's first game after the internationals is against Watford on October 14.

There is better news, however, on the knee injury that ruled Mesut Ozil out of the weekend draw at Stamford Bridge.

'Mesut is training again, but he won't feature against Doncaster. He has a little inflammation of his knee,' revealed Wenger.

The England forward will not feature for Arsenal again until after the international break

The Gunners will also be without Mesut Ozil for the visit of Doncaster to the Emirates Stadium

Midfielder Francis Coquelin and full-back Mathieu Debuchy will also be absent on Wednesday.

The Gunners manager will name a second string team for the clash against Doncaster, with Jack Wilshere and Calum Chambers set to feature from the start.

'It will be a similar team to the one that played against Cologne,' Wenger added.

Goalkeeper David Ospina, club captain Per Mertesacker, Mohamed Elneny, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud all started against Cologne before dropping out of the starting line-up for Sunday's draw at Stamford Bridge.

Wenger's priority against Doncaster will be to build on the morale-boosting point and performance at Chelsea, where Arsenal had lost on five previous visits, and carry momentum into the West Brom contest.
