Arsenal fans will hope Ozil has plenty more years in his palatial London abode, with the player's contract due to run out next summer.

Ozil has played five times for Arsenal so far this season, failing to register a goal or assist during his side's inconsistent start.

Wenger's side are already six points off early pace-setters Manchester City and Manchester United, and the Frenchman knows only a season which yields trophies will offer any hope of keeping the likes Ozil and Sanchez at the Emirates.

The forward refused to sign a bumper contract extension this summer as Arsene Wenger looked to tie down both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez to long-term deals at the Emirates.
