Manchester United continue their impressive form while their City rivals lay down a statement of intent with a huge win over Chelsea. 

Meanwhile, Everton continue to struggle and life just gets worse for sorry Crystal Palace.

Here, Sportsmail gets the fans' verdict following an entertaining weekend of action... 

Tottenham were in impressive form as they blew Huddersfield away in the first half

HUDDERSFIELD

Harry Greenwood (Better Than Klopp)

We simply couldn’t stop Harry Kane today. A joy to watch in how he found space, and a masterclass in finishing. Spurs’ clinical finishing was impressive, however Town didn’t help themselves. 

Lowe and Smith gifted the first two goals, and Kane’s stunning third was straight from a throw in! 

There were positives, as yet again Depoitre put in a real shift up top - feeding off scraps - while Schindler was a bright spark in an otherwise poor defence. Just like Van La Parra last week, I hope Alli recieves the criticism his shocking dive deserves.

TOTTENHAM

Barnaby Slater (The Football Republic)

Well that was a stroll in the park. After blowing Huddersfield’s battlers away in the first 25 minutes with a display of devastating finishing from Harry Kane, the second half was somewhat of an anticlimax. 

However, the much maligned Moussa Sissoko notched his first goal for Spurs at the death making it 4-0 and a sixth away win in a row. 

Pochettino has his team magnificently drilled and another terrific season beckons.

Bournemouth and Leicester played out a game to forget as it ended goalless at the Vitality 

BOURNEMOUTH

Peter Bell (Cherry Chimes)

The Cherries will be distraught that they did not sweep Leicester aside. We hit the woodwork twice and if one goal had gone in it would have been followed by several more.

We can argue that some penalty calls were unjustly waved away, but Bournemouth had loads of chances to win this.

Marc Pugh, especially, having come into the team could not have tried harder, but he’ll be gutted he did not score.

The big positive is that Lewis Cook was superb in midfield, linking up play and making incisive passes – who needs Jack Wilshere?

LEICESTER

Warwick Kay (LCFC World)

Another disappointing performance from the Foxes in a game that we really needed to win to kickstart the season after a very tough start.

We could easily have been three down at half-time if Bournemouth had been more ruthless but we held on.

We did improve slightly in the second half and actually could’ve won it if Okazaki had taken his chance but it really would’ve been a smash and grab. Vast improvements are needed.

Manchester United win 4-0 again as Marouane Fellaini nets a brace against Crystal Palace

MANCHESTER UNITED

Sam Peoples (The Peoples Person)

It seems 4-0 is the new 1-1 for United.

Doing it once could be luck, twice is great but more than that? It’s a habit.

United are firing on all cylinders and that’s without Paul Pogba.

Bring on Liverpool - that’s the real test and if we win that then, well, United have to be considered title favourites alongside City.

At least Palace are breaking records every week and being talked about!

In all seriousness, this is getting silly now. While most did not expect much from the trip to Old Trafford, a performance of sorts would provide some small consolation.

We knew Roy Hodgson had a job on his hands and it was always going to be mission impossible with these consecutive tough games.

Bring on no goals or points from eight games so we can all move on.

I’d imagine Southampton must be wondering how on earth they managed to lose the game.

Stoke were as frustrating as ever, missing easy passes, giving away possession carelessly, failing to take the chance to kill the game and then almost throwing everything away through blind panic.

owever, they found a way to win and there was plenty of character shown by many of our players during a frantic injury time assault by The Saints.

We’ve played better than this in the past, much better in fact, and ended up losing so we’ll tip our caps to the footballing gods and say thank you for the three points. The win was what mattered and we got it.

SOUTHAMPTON

Today was a fantastic opportunity to gain some momentum but, just like a chance that has dropped perfectly for us inside the box, we failed to take it.

The decision to start Shane Long baffled me given Stoke’s willingness to play a deep block (he was only ever meant to be a short-term fix) and Nathan Redmond needs to start repaying Pellegrino’s faith.

Over two weeks now, Southampton have played a cautious first half, consequently gone 1-0 down, and only then showed attacking intent when it’s often too little, too late.

Showings like this are popping up all too often…

WEST BROM

Alex Newton (Read West Brom)

What can you say? Two-nil up a little after 20 minutes and cruising it should have been a much-needed home win after no wins in five.

What followed was Tony Pulis showing once again he is tactically inept when Plan A goes out of the window.

Just two league wins from his last 15 matches simply isn’t good enough at this level.

On a positive note, Kyrchowiak is one of the best passers of the ball I’ve seen at The Hawthorns.

Man City and Chelsea are our next two home games. I really worry.

WATFORD

Maybe we should rest Richarlison every game and just bring him on in injury time, because he seems to love a late equaliser or winner.

But despite the late ecstasy, that felt like a game we could and should have won.

We were the better team for most of the match, but had to work hard to get back into it after three minutes of appalling defending left us 2-0 down.

Gomes had a game to forget and we were far from clinical up front, but Silva delivered again to keep us unbeaten on the road.

WEST HAM

West Ham were in desperate need of a result and in spite of what was a pretty dire and uninspiring performance, they got one.

Slaven Bilic earned himself a stay of execution courtesy of Sakho’s late winner but it’s evident that the fans aren’t content with performances and tactics right now.

All this result does is paper over some very large cracks and you fear sooner or later patience with Bilic from the board will wear thin.

SWANSEA

Declan Terry (Read Swansea)

That was painful. Not just Diafra Sakho’s 90th minute winner for West Ham — I’m talking about the Swansea performance as well.

The home side were poor, the away side were equally as poor and it made for a lacklustre and uneventful game of football.

The Swans, yet again, were hopeless in attack and the midfield hasn’t got a clue what to do with the ball, too.

It’s mind-boggling how we’ve become so inept at playing - what we used to be renowned for - good football.

One thing’s for certain though, we’re in the bottom three now and if we don’t see any improvement soon, we’ll still be there in May.

We’ve got Huddersfield next, and if we fail to win, the pressure will be on for Clement.

Andreas Christensen impressed for Chelsea but he could not stop Manchester City's attack 

CHELSEA

There are very few times in football as an opposing supporter that you can have no complaints.

As much as I would have loved to have carried on the crest of a wave from Madrid last Wednesday, Chelsea were well and truly brought back down to earth with a thud!

Outclassed, out-fought and looking like we would have been happy to settle for a draw, Chelsea were made to pay by Kevin De Bruyne.

I would love to write positives for Chelsea in this one but I’m afraid I can’t do it today.

Fair play to our opponents. Chelsea still have work to do.

A huge test of our credentials and we came through superbly - dominated possession, limited Chelsea to virtually nothing and De Bruyne’s strike was a fitting winner.

Delph was a revelation at left-back, Stones continues to grow in stature and Fernandinho is the machine that keeps us ticking over. Fully deserved win!

Things are looking better at Arsenal after Nacho Monreal helped his side to a 2-0 win 

ARSENAL

Arsenal dominated possession from start to finish and peppered the away team’s goal with a massive 25 attempts.

Sharper finishing from Sanchez and Ramsey could have see the two-goal haul trebled.

The soothing tonic was that injured Mesut Ozil wasn’t missed. Arsenal are going to cope just fine without his presence.

Arsene Wenger racked up an expected three points and continued a stylish recovery as he heads into a fairly comfortable October.

We worked hard and looked dangerous from set-pieces and if Solly March’s screamer had gone in, we might have rocked the library.

At least we had a better weekend than the teams we need below us.

The arrival of Krul has put pressure on Mat Ryan and he has responded well.

More misery at Everton after a superb Burnley team-goal piled on the pressure 

EVERTON

After a bright start Everton conspired to produce another flat display.

Against a deep, well-organised Burnley conceding a goal was only going to increase the worry around Goodison and so it proved to be.

October will forever be the bellwether month of how teams perform (especially Everton). For us it has begun poorly and it doesn’t look like the manager, the players and the performances will be suggesting improvements.

The boos and and angry feelings at the end of the game will be around for some time at Everton. The summer days of optimism, signings and a new era are well and truly over.

BURNLEY

Tony Scholes (Up the Clarets)

This is Burnley. This is the much talked about team who struggled badly away from home last season. Yet here we are with eight points from the first four away games at Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and Everton.

Today’s win at Everton was simply outstanding and was won with a brilliant team goal finished by Jeff Hendrick. We had to do some defending at times but we did so well that they hardly had a clear-cut chance.

Philippe Coutinho scored another stunner for Liverpool but his side could not find a winner 

NEWCASTLE

Tom Bore (Read Newcastle)

A hard-fought point for Newcastle.

Once Philippe Coutinho’s strike sailed past Rob Elliot, it looked as if Liverpool would take it up a gear and cause us serious problems.

However Joselu’s equaliser halted their momentum. Jonjo Shelvey and Mikel Merino look a strong midfield partnership, though Isaac Hayden’s denfensive discipline was missed on occasions.

LIVERPOOL

Dave Usher (The Liverpool Way)

Groundhog Day. Liverpool seem to dominate every game they play but it counts for very little because the forwards don’t take their chances and their defenders are taking it in turns to gift the opposition a goal.

This time it was Joel Matip who unforgivably allowed Joselu to run through the centre and score, albeit extremely fortuitously.

At the other end it’s beginning to feel like if Philippe Coutinho isn’t banging in screamers then Liverpool won’t score.

Frustrating doesn’t even begin to describe this team.
