Arsenal ace Olivier Giroud pampered before press conference at France training as make-up artist brushes his eyebrows and beard

Olivier Giroud is known as one of the Premier League's most handsome players - even while in the thick of the action as a target man, a hair rarely goes out of place.

Such fine looks don't come easily however, as proved by the preparations made before a France press conference on Monday.

Pictures from the French camp show the Arsenal striker getting touched up by a beautician before speaking to the press.

The pictures show Giroud getting brushes of foundation on his cheekbones, and his beard - a trademark of the striker's look - being brushed into position.

The attention given to Giroud reflects his importance to the French national team, where he is a regular starter, unlike at his club.

Giroud is usually picked ahead of Arsenal team-mate Alexander Lacazette whereas he usually has to play second fiddle to his compatriot at club level.

He looks set to lead the line in France's final two 2018 World Cup qualifiers this week, away to Bulgaria and at home to Belarus.
