England rugby coaches Paul Gustard and Steve Borthwick were among those watching on as a snood-clad Harry Kane and Co prepared for their World Cup qualifier with Slovenia.

Gareth Southgate met Gustard — England's defence coach — and forwards coach Borthwick at Tottenham's Enfield training ground on Wednesday ahead of their Wembley clash on Thursday night.

And Kane and the rest of Southgate's squad looked in good spirits as they were put through their paces in North London.

The Tottenham forward sported a snood during the session as he was joined by club team-mate Harry Winks, who earned his first international call-up on Monday.

The midfielder, who was called up following injuries to Fabian Delph and Phil Jones, could make his England debut as Southgate's side look to cement their supremacy at the top of Group F.

England used medicine balls and shared jokes, knowing they are on the brink of booking their place on the plane to next year's World Cup in Russia.

And on Wednesday they were watched by two men who know what it takes to take a national team to the top table.

Under Eddie Jones, Gustard and Borthwick have led England to consecutive Six Nations title and No 2 in the world rankings.

Southgate has spent time with the country's rugby union team at Pennyhill Park, while head coach Jones has come to visit his football counterparts on several occasions.
