Harry Kane will stay loyal to Tottenham despite talk of Real Madrid move, says former manager Harry Redknapp

  • Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move to Real Madrid
  • Kane has no intention to leave Spurs soon but has not ruled out a move in future
  • Harry Redknapp does not believe the player would look to force through a move

Tottenham fans should not worry about the prospect of losing star striker Harry Kane in the near future, insists former manager Harry Redknapp.

The Englishman's brilliant goalscoring form has naturally led to interest from other clubs, most notably Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Kane, speaking on Wednesday, maintained that he was 'happy' at Spurs but 'would never rule out' a move somewhere down the line.

But Redknapp has rushed to calm the fears of supporters, saying the 24-year-old is is unlikely to push for a transfer any time soon.

'No one could dislike Harry Kane,' the 70-year-old explained on Alan Brazil's Sports Breakfast. He is a model professional. I was lucky enough to manage him as a young player and he is different class.

'He wouldn't be a boy thinking he wants £200,000 or £300,000 a week. He is happy at Spurs. They love him. He will end up as captain, I'm sure. It is a great club to be at.

'Daniel [Levy, the chairman] needs to look after him and make sure his contract is up there with a player of his stature deserves and I'm sure he will.

'But I wouldn't see him wanting to bang the door down and leave Tottenham in a hurry.'
