Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson will target seasoned Premier League talent as he plots a New Year great escape.
The Eagles moved away from signing established stars over the summer with three of their four signings: Jairo Riedewald, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, 21-years-old or under.
But Hodgson wants to sign older, more established top-flight players when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Jack Wilshere, who has close to 150 Premier League appearances, is a target for Hodgson
The former England manager believe his current squad lacks the necessary experience he believes is required to dig Palace out of relegation trouble and will look to address the problem at the turn of the year.
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, who has close to 150 Premier League appearances under his belt, is a target for Hodgson.
But it remains to be seen whether the 25-year-old is prepared to leave the Gunners for a relegation fight.
The Palace boss also wants a new centre forward to challenge Christian Benteke.

Finances at Selhurst Park are likely to be limited in January, but there is a realisation that money must be made available if the Eagles, who are without a league point or goal so far this season, are to have any chance of avoiding the drop.
Hodgson, though, could be boosted by the return of key man Wilfried Zaha for the daunting visit of champions Chelsea on Saturday.
The winger has been missing since sustaining a knee injury in the opening day loss to Huddersfield.
But the Ivory Coast star is closing in on a return and could be considered for this weekend's clash against Antonio Conte's men.
