The remainder of the Reds squad also reported back with Simon Mignolet, Georginio Wijnaldum and Dominic Solanke among those who had a busy international week.

Liverpool, who enter the contest seventh in the Premier League table, are hoping to put some momentum back into their season after back-to-back draws against Spartak Moscow in the Champions League and Newcastle United.

They have won three, drawn three and lost one of their seven league matches so far, as well as starting their Champions League group with two draws. Leicester City knocked them out of the Carabao Cup at the first hurdle.

Klopp will be frustrated that forward Sadio Mane is to be sidelined for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury picked up in Senegal's World Cup qualifying win over Cape Verde.

Adam Lallana is continuing his rehabilitation from a thigh injury at the Aspire clinic in Qatar but looks set to be out for another month.

Defender Nathaniel Clyne is still out with a back issue and won't feature in the match with United.

However, Liverpool should still pack a punch up front against a United side who have conceded just twice in seven Premier League games so far this season.

Coutinho and Firmino are likely to be partnered up front by Mohamed Salah, who helped Egypt to their first World Cup since 1990, offering plenty of pace and creativity.

Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke are also attacking options, though most likely off the bench.
