Mauricio Pochettino could manage 'any club in the world' according to Jamie Redknapp.

The Tottenham boss enhanced his growing reputation on Tuesday night as his side held European champions Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw at the Bernabeu.

Spurs took a first-half lead through a Raphael Varane own goal before a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty levelled matters.

And the former Tottenham midfielder believes the Argentine has shown that he is 'up there with the best'. 


'Everyone's talking about him. He could manage any club in the world, make no mistake. Tottenham are very, very lucky to have him,' Redknapp told Sky Sports.

'They have one of the best managers in terms of his development of players; he improves footballers and also tactically he's as good as anyone.

Pochettino joined Spurs in 2014 after an impressive stint in charge of Southampton, and though he is yet to deliver silverware he has guided them to two successive seasons in the Champions League.

And Redknapp believes his skills could lead him to managing Los Blancos in the future. 

'You want to look after him. People are talking about Harry Kane maybe going to Real Madrid, but maybe someone like him as well, unless he gets looked after.

'I'm sure we'll be talking about him in the same terms. He already is, probably.'
