Manchester United have signed a memorandum of understanding with the General Sports Authority of Saudi Arabia to help develop football industry in the country.

The partnership will see United lend business and sporting expertise to clubs and sporting authorities within Saudi Arabia to boost development.

United's group managing director Richard Arnold said: 'The club has a long-standing relationship with Saudi Arabia and has over five million passionate fans in the region.

The General Sports Authority of Saudi Arabia made another significant coup from the Premier League last season when top referee Mark Clattenburg left his position to become the head of refereeing for the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.
