Arsenal produced a convincing display despite going behind early on to beat Everton at Goodison Park.

It was Wayne Rooney who gave the Goodison Park faithful hope, when he swept home with his instep from 25 yards to give Ronald Koeman's side the lead.

But mounting pressure proved telling just before the break. Jordan Pickford was unable to hold on to a stinging shot from Granit Xhaka, which consequently found Nacho Monreal in the box. The Spaniard buried from close range.

Then Mesut Ozil seized the initiative after the break when Alexis Sanchez's whipped ball into the box found the German's head before he fired it beyond Pickford in the Everton goal.

It was Alexandre Lacazette next, who smashed home to make it three before Aaron Ramsey added a fourth. Oumar Niasse capitalised on Petr Cech's mistake in injury time to give the Blues a consolation goal.

Alexis Sanchez then netted with virtually the last kick of the game to restore the three-goal lead.

Boos echo around Goodison Park as Craig Pawson blows his whistle for full-time. Will Ronald Koeman survive another week as Everton manager?

15:23

Absolutely woeful defending from Everton who don't put any pressure on Sanchez and the Chilean lets fly with a right-footed strike which hits the back of the net.

15:21
GOAL: EVERTON 2-4 Arsenal (Niasse 93 mins)

What on earth is going on there? Confusing at the back between Monreal and Cech gives Niasse the easy task of tapping into the empty net for a late consolation goal.

The defender passed the ball back to his keeper, Cech wasn't expecting it and Niasse was able to win the ball off the former Arsenal stopper before scoring his side's second.

15:20

Gueye can have no complaints at being sent off for his second yellow card there.

Pawson continues to referee well.

14:57
RED CARD: Gueye receives a second yellow

68 mins: That's silly from Gueye, he's made this even harder for Everton now.

Already on a booking, the midfielder catches Xhaka with a late challenge and match official Pawson has no choice but to send him off for a second booking.

The hosts facing an uphill task now.

57 mins: You can't say Arsenal don't deserve that.

Everton have had their fair share of possession but they had Pickford to thank for keeping Arsenal out.

And that was a wonderful header from Ozil. His commitment to Arsenal has been questioned this season but he's come up with the goods this afternoon.

14:40
GOAL: Everton 1-2 ARSENAL (Ozil 53 mins)

Their future at Arsenal is in doubt but Sanchez and Ozil combine to turn this game around and give the visitors the lead at Goodison Park.

Wayne Rooney have Everton the lead against the run-of-play with a stunning strike before Nacho Monreal levelled the score five minutes before the break after Jordan Pickford, who has had a busy afternoon, parried Granit Xhaka's shot.

More of the same in the second half please lads.

14:17
Everton 1-1 Arsenal

45+1 mins: Arsenal have been on top since finding that equaliser and no doubt Everton will be desperate for that half-time whistle to they can regroup.

We'll have two minutes added time at Goodison Park.

14:10
GOAL: Everton 1-1 ARSENAL (Monreal 40 mins)

An unlikely goalscorer but Everton are level through Monreal - and questions have to be asked of Pickford there.

Xhaka's snap-shot is parried by the goalkeeper and Monreal finds himself unmarked in the box to fire home and score a deserved equaliser for the visitors.

They were knocking on the door - and now it's game on!

36 mins: Kolasinac looks to release Lacazette who times his run well but the Frenchman is unable to get on the end of it. He'd have been clear through on goal there.

Pickford has made some great saves today but his kicking has been woeful, he's rushing every kick and giving the ball back to Arsenal. Needs to slow it down a bit.

Pickford makes a great save from Lacazette
14:05
Graham Poll on the Williams incident

Poor attitude from Alexis Sanchez in trying to get Ashley Williams sent off after an innocuous challenge from the Everton skipper.

Well done Craig Pawson in not being influenced.

14:04
Gueye booked for foul on Sanchez

33 mins: Gueye goes into the book for pulling back Sanchez. Deservedly so, he's put in a few fouls in this first half.

14:03
Sportsmail's Dominic King at Goodison Park

Nikola Vlasic attracted little interest when he arrived from Hajduk Split but he has quickly shown he has something about him; he wants to go forward and isn't afraid to take a risk.

It has been a difficult time to make an impression as an Everton player but he had done so.

14:02
Everton 1-0 Arsenal - Williams avoids second booking

31 mins: Williams has already booked and is very fortunate to not receive a second yellow after colliding with Lacazette. The Arsenal players immediately run to Pawson but the referee just gives the defender a final warning.

However having just seen the replays again, there wasn't much contact and Lazazette was looking for that. Would have been very harsh to send him off for that.

13:52
Everton 1-0 Arsenal

20 mins: That goal has given Everton much-needed confidence - and completely stunned Arsenal. The away side were the better side before the opener but now they can't get out of their half, and Everton look the more likely to score the next goal.

Rooney whips in a over-hit cross but it is met by Baines in the box, the left back's volley is blocked and Arsenal are able to clear.

Goodison Park is bouncing.

13:41
Everton 0-0 Arsenal - another wonderful save from the Toffees keeper

9 mins: Pickford has now made three top-class saves to keep his clean sheet in tact, for now...

This time it's Lacazette who tests the goalkeeper, swivelling in the box with a smart turn but the former Sunderland star is quick off his line to block the close-range shot.

Arsenal should be 3-0 up. But for now, it's still goalless.

The hosts clear the danger from the corner.

13:36
Sportsmail's Dominic King at Goodison Park

Much atmosphere here at Goodison Park and the home fans seem ready to lift their deflated team.

Ronald Koeman has switched his formation again to play three central defenders but it remains to be seen what impact it has.

Gareth Southgate is here and there is plenty for the England manager to look at.

So too is Everton fan Tony Bellew.

13:35
Everton 0-0 Arsenal

4 mins: Desperate defending from Everton, they look very nervous out there this afternoon. Sanchez finds some space in the hosts' box and for some reason Pickford feels the need to come out and put him under pressure.

He fails to collect the ball and then Williams' clearance is weak, hitting a player in the box and fortunately going out of play.

13:34
Everton 0-0 Arsenal

2 mins: 'Super Jack, super Jack Wilshere'. The Arsenal supporters are clearly delighted to see their midfielder on the bench.

Meanwhile they almost had more reason to cheer with Ramsey inches away from opening the scoring. He links up with Ozil, receives the ball back but his shot is wonderfully saved by Pickford, who somehow tips it around his post for an Arsenal corner.

Everton clear the danger.

13:31
Everton 0-0 Arsenal

BRIAN LEE: There's a sprinkling of Hollywood about Sunday's early match as Everton face Arsenal just days after the 15th anniversary of Wayne Rooney scoring THAT goal at Goodison.

How his boss Ronald Koeman could do with one of those. Rooney is 5/2 to score at any time against the Gunners after being rested for the midweek Europa League tie with Lyon where a 2-1 defeat saw Koeman trimmed to 1/6 to be the next Premier League boss to lose his job.
