The main shirt sponsor of Everton was forced to issue an apology after a message on their official Twitter praised Arsenal following a 5-2 thrashing at Goodison Park.
Pressure on Ronald Koeman reached boiling point as the Gunners romped to victory and sent the Toffees crashing into the relegation zone as they continued a dismal start to the season.
With fans already fuming at the sight of another loss, they took out their frustration on SportPesa, who, despite being the club's premier sponsor, described the Arsenal team as 'Made of Winners'.

The tweet read: 'Well in #Gunners! A superb gift by the players for the birthday gaffer! #MadeofWinners'
SportPesa, who took over from the longstanding Chang Beer in the summer, is also the official African betting partner of the Gunners. But in a heart-felt apology, the company promised to review their 'internal policies and processes'.
'We acknowledge a mistake was made, we have read your messages on social media and we understand the reaction,' the apology read.

Everton took the lead against Arsene Wenger's side via a fine effort from Wayne Rooney before Nacho Monreal, Mesut Ozil, Alex Lacazette, Aaron Ramsey and Alexis Sanchez hit back to claim the three points.
It left Koeman facing the sack and the Dutchman admitted after the match that his future at the club was now far from certain.
Asked whether the heavy loss could cost him his job, he said: 'I don't know.

'I told the players I believe in them, the commitment of the players, but if you are negative thinking -- and everybody is doing that in this moment - all these kinds of decisions are not in my hands.
'That is normal because that is football. We have played nine Premier League games, against the first five of the Premier League last season, but this is not the position that is good for Everton.
'I understand that. I have worked a long time in football. First of all, I don't think it is too late.'
