Ryan Giggs has confirmed his interest in the vacant managerial positions at Everton and Leicester.

Ronald Koeman was sacked as Everton manager on Monday following the 5-2 defeat by Arsenal, while the Leicester job became available last week when Craig Shakespeare left the King Power Stadium.

Giggs has been without a job in management since leaving his assistant manager post at Manchester United after the appointment of Jose Mourinho.

And the former winger, who is co-owner of Salford City, has spoken about how managing either Everton or Leicester would be an attractive proposition. 


'I think you look at those two teams, Leicester being champions two seasons ago, Everton being a fantastic club with a fantastic history, for me these are clubs I would be interested in,' Giggs told Sky Sports.

'However, there are a lot of coaches out there who would be interested in those positions.

'I've said all along that I'd be open to clubs which share the ambitions of myself. I want to improve clubs and improve players, to enjoy working for them and for players to enjoy the challenge.

'There are clubs in the Premier League which would be good jobs but also in the Championship and League One. It's more about the philosophy for me than the stature of the club.'

The 43-year-old was linked to the Norwich City manager's job earlier this year.

Sportsmail understands, however, that Giggs wasn't invited for an interview before Alan Irvine was appointed on a temporary basis in March. Daniel Farke has since been appointed as boss at Carrow Road
