Jose Mourinho may have to rely on Victor Lindelof once again in Tuesday night's Carabao Cup tie at Swansea despite the Sweden defender’s blunders in the shock defeat to Huddersfield.
Lindelof was criticised for his part in both goals after replacing the injured Phil Jones in the 23rd minute of United’s 2-1 defeat at the John Smith’s Stadium.
With Jones set to miss the fourth-round clash with Swansea, and Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo only just recovering from injury, Mourinho may have little choice but to put his faith in United’s £31million summer signing from Benfica.

The other options to partner Chris Smalling in central defence at the Liberty Stadium are Daley Blind or teenager Axel Tuanzebe.
After seeing United suffer their first domestic defeat of the season, Juan Mata called on the cup holders to respond.
‘Now, it’s time to learn from mistakes and keep going, as we always do,’ said Mata. ‘Showing that the team sticks together when things don’t go so well, which is when we need it most.’
