Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino questioned his side's concentration after they surrendered a two-goal lead against West Ham.

Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli had put Spurs ahead in the Carabao Cup last-16 tie before an Andre Ayew brace and a Angelo Ogbonna strike condemned them to defeat.

Pochettino said: 'We scored two goals and it looked like the game was over but we showed a lack of aggression and concede three in 15 minutes.

'That can't happen. When you are not on the same mental level it is difficult. The opponent had nothing to lose, they started to believe and we started to suffer.

'Maybe we thought the job was done. The second half was not the same and it is difficult to accept.'

Tottenham had come into the game against West Ham off the back of an impressive 4-1 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League and a 1-1 draw away to Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Pochettino said he thought his players maybe switched off because the match with West Ham wasn't as important.

He added: ''After Real Madrid and Liverpool it was difficult to keep the motivation and concentration. We must be more mature at 2-0 up, that is disappointing.

'It is not good to lose, always, I am not happy.'
