The Reds will hope to change their fortunes this weekend against Huddersfield, however Klavan's damaged car is likely to cause some distraction for the player.

Jurgen Klopp will be finalising his plans for the clash against the Terriers this weekend, with his side having won only one of their last five matches in all competitions.

The Anfield club shipped four in the last fixture against Tottenham and their leaky defence has been under-fire all season.

And Klavan, who has started three league games this season, will be looking to be displace one of Dejan Lovren or Joel Matip and push for a starting berth this weekend.

The defence was blasted by players and pundits alike following the loss to Spurs and whether Klopp decides to stick to his first-choice pairing, or whether Klavan or Joe Gomez fill the role, is yet to be seen.

Either way the manager will put further emphasis on his defence becoming watertight as the season draws on, with Liverpool falling behind the pace in ninth.

Playing Huddersfield at Anfield will represent a serious opportunity for Liverpool to pick up points — despite David Wagner's side coming off the back of a 2-1 win against Manchester United last weekend.

Liverpool sit just one point ahead of Huddersfield and Klopp will hope his old friend Wagner will not architect a win which will see the newly-promoted club usurp them in the ladder.

One thing is for certain, a positive result will provide the Merseyside outfit with some much-needed momentum as they contend with a packed fixture list on domestic and European fronts.
