Aguero broke Eric Brook's City scoring record from the 1930s with a goal against Napoli on Wednesday night.

'It's all about records with strikers and Aguero's record stands comparison with any in the Premier League,' said the Stoke manager and former United centre forward.

'He's a great player. I love watching him work. He hasn't been there a great time but in that time he's had a huge impact on their history.

'You look back at the goal he scored against me and QPR, that was a huge goal and huge moment in City's history and he will forever be a part of that.

'I think it was probably the loudest noise I've ever heard in a stadium for a brief moment. It was one of those where I felt like I needed to put my fingers in my ears.

'I think everybody was replicating what Martin Tyler was doing. It wasn't a cheer, it was a scream, because they couldn't believe what they had just seen.

'It was OK to be there but at the time I didn't really want to be involved in it. But we stayed up.

'His influence on the team will always be a part of City's history.'
