Maguire's selection comes after Southgate left out Manchester United's Chris Smalling and questioned his ability to play it out from the back.

They are in line to get their chances to impress for the Three Lions next week, having both started in the 1-0 win over Lithuania in October.

That was 24-year-old Maguire's England debut. Southgate's visit to the bet365 Stadium will also give him a chance to look at Leicester striker Jamie Vardy.
