Arsenal and Chelsea's proposed New Year's Day showdown has now been moved to January 3 after the Premier League announced the televised fixtures for December and January.

Much controversy surrounded numerous fixtures over the festive and New Year period, with supporters of different teams airing their concerns regarding the difficulty of transport links during the hectic time of the calendar year.

The Gunners will now host Antonio Conte's side two days later on January 3 as opposed to New Year's day, though the shake up has also had implications for the likes of Tottenham and West Ham.

The London rivals will now do battle on New Year's Eve, December 31, at White Hart Lane, after seeing their original date of Saturday December 30 pushed back.


Manchester City's match with Watford has also been switched from New Year's Day, with the two sides now set to face off on Tuesday January 2 with an 8.00pm kick-off in order for Sky Sports to broadcast the spectacle.

The league's other big guns, Manchester United, will go ahead with their clash with Everton on New Year's Day as planned, though the kick-off time will now alter from 3pm to a 5.30pm start.
