Morgan Schneiderlin and Kevin Mirallas were reportedly sent home from an Everton training session on Saturday.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the duo appeared disinterested which tested the patience of coach Duncan Ferguson, who told them they should go inside if they were not going to bother.
Both players then apparently walked out of the session, before being told to go home.

Neither player featured on Sunday as the Toffees battled back from 2-0 down to beat Watford at Goodison Park.
Schneiderlin took to Instagram on Monday to deny the story, insisting he is 'fully committed' the club.
He wrote: 'I have seen press stories about me "being sent away from training". The stories are not true.
'I am fully committed to Everton and will continue to work hard for the club and the fans in training and on the pitch.'
Mirallas took to social media after the game, writing on Instagram: 'Thank you for all your messages.
'It's a difficult situation for me, but in life there are things much more serious than my personal situation.'
Mirallas has only started one Premier League match this season — and he was hauled off at half time in that game.

The 30-year-old signed a new contract as recently as May but his future at Goodison Park now appears in severe doubt.
His commitment has come into question before. Mirallas was left out of the matchday squad by former manager Ronald Koeman when the Toffees travelled to Chelsea in August.
Explaining why Mirallas was not involved at Stamford Bridge, Koeman said at the time: 'Everybody can be disappointed. But I expect from everybody to be part of the team.
'If somebody is showing that he is disappointed and his attitude is not the same then I have to make a decision.'
