Manchester United have lined up a deal for Benfica prospect Umaro Embalo.
The 16-year-old has been a target for the Old Trafford club for the past year after impressing against them in a tournament and staff were asked to compile a report.
They faced strong competition from Real Madrid, however, are now confident of persuading the teenage winger to move to England in the new year.

Embalo, born in Bissau, Guinea, has scored 15 goals in 18 games for Portugal's Under 17s and had a 26-minute cameo against United in the UEFA Youth League this season.
Though he plays predominantly on the right, the pacy winger is left footed and models himself on his idol Angel di Maria.
The teenager is still yet to feature for Benfica's senior squad having only made appearances for their Under 19s side.
Liverpool and Manchester City had also checked on Embalo but it seems United's strong alliance with Benfica has helped persuade the teenager to move to Old Trafford.
