Jurgen Klopp fears Sadio Mane faces another lay-off after the Liverpool forward aggravated his hamstring problem on international duty with Senegal.
And there was another blow for Klopp as defender Nathaniel Clyne learned he could miss three more months, following surgery on the back injury that has kept him out since the start of the season.
Mane, who has scored 16 goals in 32 Premier League starts since joining Liverpool last summer, is due back at England on Tuesday morning, having been released by Senegal.

Manager Klopp said: 'It is a concern that the hamstring injury is on the agenda again. It will be critical to monitor and manage that in the coming days.
'We will assess Sadio as soon as he lands in the country and make decisions on what rehab gives him the best chance of being fit for the important fixtures we have coming up.
'We respect how important he is for Senegal. He is so proud of his country and knows what a role model he is for them.'

Klopp had hoped 26-year-old England right back Clyne was close to fitness when he returned to training last month, only for him to break down again.
Now the club's medical team have decided Clyne needs an operation and he travelled to London on Monday to see a specialist.
In more encouraging news, Adam Lallana will step up his comeback in a training match on Tuesday.
