Guardiola's reunion with the old master
Whilst Louis van Gaal's reputation might not be sky high in this country he remains a revered figure elsewhere, especially in Barcelona. He won back-to-back La Liga titles at the Nou Camp with a team featuring Pep Guardiola at its heart.
The enjoyed a reunion at the Etihad before Manchester City's 1-0 win over Feyenoord with Guardiola looking particularly pleased to see his old boss.

Dortmund's collapse not the only poor show at the Westfalenstadion
He may have scored the opener but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could not prevent his side from slipping to defeat against Tottenham. It confirmed the German club's exit from the Champions League but perhaps more shocking was Aubameyang's black and gold hairdo.

Red trousers are usually the reserve of sailors who have crossed equator but Monaco decided that they were suitable attire to arrive at their Champions League clash in.

Ronaldo's latest record
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th European goal for Real Madrid as they hammered APOEL 6-0 but it also took his Champions League tally to 17 for the calendar year, a new record. He might be goal shy in La Liga but Ronaldo is still the king on the continent.
Ben Yedder confused trolling
Liverpool's collapse from 3-0 up at Sevilla to draw 3-3 enticed Wissam Ben Yedder on to Twitter to revel in the result.
Although the Sevilla man decided to reference Liverpool's Champions League final comeback win over AC Milan to do so. Very odd.
