Leicester will explore the possibility of bringing in Hatem Ben Arfa in January.

Manager Claude Puel is a major fan of the winger from their time together at Nice and thinks a deal could be struck with Paris Saint-Germain.

Ben Arfa, the former Newcastle and Hull player, has been frozen out at PSG with the arrivals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe and it is understood the French club would be open to a loan move.

Puel took Ben Arfa to Nice in 2015 and he enjoyed the finest season of his career, scoring 18 goals to earn an international recall with France.

But his switch to PSG has been unsuccessful and the 30-year-old has failed to feature this season after refusing a summer transfer.

Ben Arfa will have six-months left on wages of £100,000 in January and Puel would like to investigate whether an agreement can be reached that sees Leicester pay a percentage until next summer.

Puel has recently spoken warmly about how Ben Arfa showed ‘fight’ during the first half of 2015 when he was unable to play for Nice due to FIFA regulations.

It is likely that the Leicester manager will look to offload a number of fringe players to fund his winter spending, with Ahmed Musa, Islam Slimani, Leonardo Ulloa and Yohan Benalouane on the periphery at present.
