Championship clubs are monitoring teenage Wolves centre back Cameron John.

The 18-year-old is under contract until 2019 but, with his path to Wolves first team temporarily blocked, rival clubs are considering a January move.

John is a left-sided centre back who can also play at full back.

Wolves are top of the Championship and looking to strengthen their squad further in January as they look to secure promotion.


They may be willing to allow John out on an initial loan.

John has impressed with a string of solid performances for Wolves U23s, notably against Newcastle when he kept first-team striker Dwight Gayle quiet in a 1-0 win.

Before joining the Black Country outfit he has on the books at Southend United's academy.
