Robbie Fowler instructed three Liverpool players from a van outside the club shop
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain struck up conversation with a young supporter inside
The former Arsenal man began by asking: 'Excuse me son, do you want to buy this? as he held up a shirt with his name on it.
'No, thank you,' came the succinct reply.
Oxlade-Chamberlain then pushed further: 'But he's going to be a superstar,' he added in the prank orchestrated by MBNA.
'One day. Been saying that for 10 years though,' quipped the youngster, still oblivious to the identity of the man behind the false beard.'
The supporter claimed people had predicted a meteoric rise for the forward for a decade
Oxlade-Chamberlain hit back with the reasonable assertion that he was 14 ten years ago
The Liverpool winger hit back with: 'Been saying that for 10 years about Oxlade-Chamberlain? That's since he was 14'
The 24-year-old ploughed on undeterred and asked if he was the best signing of the summer window.
The teenager simply responded with: 'No.'
Fowler also tasked the players with asking where the 'Robbie Fowler legend shirts' were and persuaded Solanke to ask for a discount.
After the lighthearted exchange in the shop Fowler ordered his crew back to the van and fortunately Oxlade-Chamberlain saw the funny side.
