Raheem Sterling was one of many City stars to be pictured alongside a giant tractor tyre which was used as part of the evening run-out.

If the session with the tyre was meant as a team bonding exercise then it seemed to have worked.

The squad posed for group photographs under the lights of the Manchester City training ground after a light-hearted session.

City fans will hope their side can continue their impressive form which has seen them run away with the title race in the early stages of the season.

The potency of their attack has been highlighted by their 42 league goals and the side remain unbeaten.

The manner in which City have been winning is in stark contrast to that of their opponents on Wednesday night.

Saints had been struggling for goals this season until last weekend's 4-1 demolition of Everton.
