Manchester United are prepared to take a £11.5million loss to offload Luke Shaw in January.
Premier League clubs are being quoted £20m to buy the 22-year-old defender who cost £31.5m, a world-record fee for a teenager when he signed from Southampton in 2014.
Newcastle are among those who have enquired about Shaw's availability but they will be priced out by United's demands.

He has made just 29 league starts for the club and his only appearances this season have been limited to two substitute outings in the Carabao Cup, amounting to 47 minutes of first-team football.
Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez - who is desperate for a left back - could well return with a loan offer should there be no takers as the winter transfer window progresses.
Shaw, meanwhile, is keen to remain in England and will move if there is the promise of first-team football.
The left back has made just 29 appearances in over three years at Old Trafford
He has suffered a series of injuries, and there has been doubt cast upon his commitment
Shaw's career has fallen flat since suffering a horrendous broken leg in a Champions League game against PSV in September 2015.
Louis van Gaal first cast doubt upon Shaw's fitness levels, refusing to pick the defender, who has won seven England caps, until he had improved his condition on an individual training programme.
Mourinho has since handed Shaw public dressings down, first about his defensive positioning during a 3-1 defeat at Watford last season and later his fitness.
In September, after Shaw had returned following a six-month lay-off for foot ligament damage, Mourinho then said his defender 'has to work. He has to improve' or he would not be considered for selection.
