Kevin De Bruyne has promised that Manchester City will attempt to 'dominate' the derby at Old Trafford.
Pep Guardiola's side can open up an 11-point gap at the Premier League's summit with victory over Manchester United on Sunday.
And De Bruyne - who has been given the week off to rest - wants United chasing shadows in their own back yard.
Kevin De Bruyne has shot a warning to Manchester United ahead of next weekend's derby
'We want to do what we always do – try to play our style, put them under pressure and see where it goes from there,' the Belgian said.
'We want to try and dominate the ball, so we just have to look at ourselves. Obviously it's a huge game.'
City are making a habit of winning games deep into second halves, with David Silva's 83rd-minute strike sinking West Ham on Sunday their third late show in a week.
De Bruyne suggested opposing teams are losing concentration as a result of being worn down and maintained the club's 20-match winning streak will be forgotten if they do not clinch the title.

David Silva scored an 83rd minute winner against West Ham at the Etihad Stadium
'It's more difficult when the other team has 11 behind the ball,' he added.
'It takes more time but the late goals are evidence of them getting tired with the way that we play, and they have to run so much.
'Maybe there's a loss of focus and it gives us more space in the end. We're doing a great job.
'Are you going to say, if we don't win anything at the end of the season, you are going to talk about the 20 wins we have now?
'It is phenomenal but obviously we want to win in the end. It gives us a good advantage for the moment but we have a big week with United, Swansea and Tottenham.
'If you lose two games out of three and they win everything, they are there.'
